RB Leipzig will be looking to continue their impressive form in league play when they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to Red Bull Arena on Sunday, March 14th, kick-off 10:30am ET.
Leipzig has won five straight domestic matches and will be seeking a positive result after bowing out of the Champions League Round of 16 mid-week at the hands of Liverpool. Frankfurt is also playing top football currently, tasting defeat just once in their last nine appearances in Bundesliga action.
These two outfits already locked horns earlier in the term, playing to a 1-1 draw at Deutsche Bank Park.

Leipzig Shifts Focus to Title Race
After advancing to the semifinals of the Champions League last season, it’s certainly disappointing for Leipzig to be out this early. However, there’s a serious title race in Germany right now and they’re at the very heart of it.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side is just two points off Bayern Munich in second spot and two weeks from now, they clash with the champions. This means that Sunday’s meeting with Frankfurt is extremely important for Leipzig.
Aside from the Liverpool defeat, their form couldn’t be any better. The Red Bulls have conceded just three times in their last six appearances while bagging 15 goals. In fact, Leipzig has allowed just 20 goals in 24 fixtures this term, the lowest amount in the Bundesliga.
Matchday 24 saw Nagelsmann’s men handle Freiburg in convincing fashion, beating them 3-0. Christopher Nkunku led the way in the final third, netting the first and assisting the second. The French midfielder has been one of Leipzig’s most clinical finishers this season, scoring six goals and providing another four.

With Bayern playing Werder Bremen, it’s expected they’ll have no issues collecting the full three points. Therefore, Leipzig must bring their best against Eintracht because a poor result could severely hurt them in their hunt for the Bavarians.
They will be without attacking-minded wing-back Angelino though, who also missed the Liverpool clash on Wednesday.
Can Frankfurt Find a Result?
Considering Adi Hutter’s squad finished in ninth spot last term and missed out on Europe altogether, they’re in a brilliant position currently. But, the pressure is mounting just below them. Frankfurt sits just three and four points, respectively, above Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund for the fourth and final UCL placing.
For Dortmund especially, their sights will be strongly on Europe, as a finish outside of the top four would be considered an utter disappointment. The Eagles still have clashes ahead with BVB and Leverkusen as well, which means their fight for Champions League football will not be easy by any means.
Frankfurt took away just a point last weekend in a 1-1 draw with Stuttgart and lost on Matchday 23 to Werder Bremen. But prior, they were finding lots of positive results. Hutter’s men took out Bayern at the tail-end of a five-match winning streak.
Goals have been one of the clear storylines for this side. Eintracht has scored 47 times, the second-most in Germany’s top flight behind the title-holders. Portuguese striker Andre Silva is having a season for the ages, firing home 19 goals, which is tied with phenom Erling Haaland for second in the league.
5. André Silva 🇵🇹 (Eintracht Frankfurt – Germany)

He’s been clinical in the final third for Frankfurt while also receiving tremendous service from midfielders Filip Kostic and Daichi Kamada, who have combined for 17 assists.
Having never qualified for Europe’s most prized competition, the Eagles will certainly be motivated in doing so but a positive result will be absolutely crucial on Sunday.

There’s a lot at stake for both sides in this fixture, so expect it to be a dogfight. But, despite Leipzig’s midweek defeat to the Merseysiders, I have no doubts they will come out firing and secure a crucial victory on home soil and end their three-game winless streak against Frankfurt.
Given that each team has relatively solid backlines, the under 2.5 goals is a safe bet here. I also have a strong feeling Silva will find the back of the net after missing several clear-cut opportunities a week ago against Stuttgart, but it won’t be enough to secure the full points for his side.
Pick: RB Leipzig (-124), Under 2.5 Goals (+125), Andre Silva to Score (+188)
