PokerStars announces Spring Championship of Online Poker Schedule with $100 million in prize money

It’s that time of year again! PokerStars is ready to bring back its popular Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) beginning in April. The series will include 102 events and feature a whopping $100 million in total guaranteed prize money.

Players can compete from April 4-28, with a nice variety of gaming options. The SCOOP has low, medium, and high buy-in levels, allowing players to compete no matter their experience or bankroll. Buy-ins start at $2.20 and go as high as $25,000.

Six Main Events

PokerStars thought carefully about the schedule for SCOOP. The online poker series will have not one, not two or three, but SIX Main Events! This will be a massive Main Event schedule with a total of $15 million in prize money up for grabs.

The cheapest options are the $109 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max Main Event Low and the $109 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max Main Event Low. The Omaha version will have a lower $350,000 guaranteed prize pool while the NLH option will have a huge $3 million guaranteed prize pool.

On the medium level, we have the $1,050 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max Main Event with a $750,000 prize pool. The No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max Main Event has the same buy-in and a much larger $5 million prize pool.

On the high end, players can compete in the $10,300 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max Main Event and earn a shot at competing for $1.25 million. The High No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max Main Event has a much larger prize pool of $5 million and includes the same $10,300 buy-in.

Managing Director & Commercial Officer, Poker, Product and Innovation, Severin Rasset, commented on the series by stating: “SCOOP is a series that our community really look forward to and plan for, so we’re excited to share the full schedule, a huge guarantee, and all of the promotions and giveaways we are holding to reward our players.”

Don’t Forget the Leaderboards!

As with many online poker tournament options, PokerStars is offering up a leaderboard competition for SCOOP. But not just one, there are four on offer. The Low, Medium and High levels will have a leaderboard and there will also be one for the overall Player of the Series.

Players will earn points for competing in events. Finish in a certain spot and you will have points applied to your account. A total of $100,000 is up for grabs in additional cash thanks to the four leaderboards. The more events you compete in, the better shot you have of finishing in the money on the leaderboard.
