Arizona’s Gila River Indian Community this week revealed plans to open a $143 million expansion of its Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino in Chandler, Arizona later this year.
The expansion project will include a new 11-story hotel tower that will be connected to the property’s existing hotel. It will be 150 feet tall and will feature 205 guest rooms, bringing the resort’s total to 447.
The recently revealed project marks the first expansion of the Chandler property since it originally opened doors in 2009. Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino is managed by Gila River Hotels & Casinos, the gaming and hospitality arm of the Gila River Indian Community.
Aside from its existing hotel, the complex also features 100,000 square feet of gaming space with slot machines, table games, video poker, and a live poker room with 25 tables. It also offers a number of bars and dining outlets and 12,000 square feet of conference space.
In addition to the development of a new hotel tower, the expansion scheme also includes 18,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and 4,000 square feet of outdoor meeting space, a bar and lounge on the second floor of the new hotel tower and a rooftop restaurant on its 11th floor that will overlook nearby mountains and the Arizona desert landscape.
A New Chapter
Commenting on the recently unveiled expansion scheme, Gila River Hotels & Casinos CEO Kenneth Manuel said that this project marks a major investment in the Gila River Indian Community and is “symbolic of a new chapter in our history.”
He went on to say that it reflects their commitment “to be a leader in the gaming and hospitality industry through enhanced experiences and amenities” and that they look forward to seeing the “continued representation of our community’s culture in the expansion project.”
News about the addition of new amenities at Wild Horse Pass emerge just days after the property’s owner announced a definitive agreement with gambling technology provider GAN, under the terms of which the latter would provide its simulated gaming solutions to its new partner.
Aside from the Chandler casino, Gila River Hotels & Casinos operates two more properties in Arizona – Vee Quiva in Laveen Village and Lone Butte, which too is located in Chandler.
Under the terms of the recent deal with GAN, the three properties will be provided with access to the European company’s latest simulated gaming technology and software which includes a new application framework and desktop template.
As part of that deal, GAN will launch an integrated simulated gaming platform across desktop and mobile that will be available at Gila River Hotels & Casinos’ three properties. The technology firm will also supply its new partner with marketing and front-line customer services.
