The Colts took a big gamble on Carson Wentz this offseason. Here are five bold predictions about how Wentz and his teammates will perform in 2021.

Carson Wentz’s arrival in Indianapolis will determine just how successful the Colts can be in 2021. If he returns to top form, then Frank Reich’s roster has the potential to make a Super Bowl run. If he plays like he did for the Eagles in 2020, then Indianapolis will be looking for a new quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Expect the Colts to do everything within their power to rehabilitate Wentz. They need their big quarterback bet to pay off handsomely. Anything else will leave them mired somewhere very close to mediocrity.

The Wentz issue isn’t the only big variable facing the Colts in 2021 though. This is a team with a lot of high-end potential left to realize. Indianapolis fans need to keep a close eye on the following five predictions as indicators of how their favorite team will perform this season.

5. Parris Campbell will finally contribute

Campbell has been a massive disappointment for the Colts since entering the league as a second round draft pick in 2019. Injuries have prevented the talented wideout from making a big impact in the NFL.

A serious knee injury ended his 2020 campaign prematurely, but he should be ready to go when the 2021 season kicks off. If he can stay healthy, he’s got a chance to carve out a meaningful role in the slot for the Colts offense.

The prediction here isn’t that Campbell will become a star. It’s just that he’ll become a meaningful contributor for an efficient offense. The Colts would love to see him play double-digit games and catch 50 or so passes.
