MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala surged anew in the latest WTA singles rankings released Monday.
The promising Filipino soared to No. 763, climbing 140 spots since the previous tally.
“Happy with my new WTA ranking!” she wrote on Facebook.
Her steady rise followed after a string of quarterfinals finishes in tournaments in Spain and most recently in France.
The 15-year-old Eala just last month won her first professional title.
Eala’s breakthrough propelled her into the top 1000 of the rankings earlier this month.
Next up for Eala, a scholar from the Rafa Nadal Academy, is the W25 Manacor tournament back in Spain.
