Blue Jays trade Ryan Noda to Dodgers to complete Ross Stripling trade

The Toronto Blue Jays have traded outfield prospect Ryan Noda to the Los Angeles Dodgers to complete the trade they made for Ross Stripling at last season’s trade deadline.

Noda spent 2019 with high-A Dunedin, slashing .238/.372/.418 with 13 home runs in 117 games. The 24-year-old’s best trait is his patience, as evidenced by his career .422 on-base percentage over three minor-league seasons.

Pitcher Kendall Williams, a second-round draft pick in 2019, was the first of the two players to be named later that Toronto sent to Los Angeles in the deal.

Stripling made five appearances for the Blue Jays down the stretch in 2020, logging a 6.32 ERA. The right-hander is in the mix for a spot in Toronto’s starting rotation this season but could also serve as a swingman out of the bullpen.
