The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 conditional second-round pick that has the potential to turn into a first-round pick. The trade was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.
The Eagles were hoping to land a first-round pick for Wentz but had not been having much luck on the trade market. This deal could land Philadelphia the first-round pick they were looking for, albeit in next year’s draft instead of this one. According to Schefter, the conditional second-round pick will become a first if Wentz’s “playtime” is above 75% next season or if it is above 70% and the Colts make the playoffs.
