Latest Anthony Davis, LeBron James injury update will have Lakers fans celebrating


Los Angeles Lakers stars Anthony Davis and LeBron James are weeks away from returning from injury.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been hit by the injury bug ever since Anthony Davis went down win a right calf injury on Valentines Day with a right calf injury. Weeks later, LeBron James suffered a high right ankle sprain. Losing both stars sent the Lakers tumbling down the Western Conference standings and the fanbase into panic mode. But we have good news to share to Lakers fans.

According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis is set to be re-evaluated by team doctors this upcoming Thursday and could return to the court in 10-to-14 days. As for James, he is on track to return to the Lakers in three weeks.

Lakers: LeBron James, Anthony Davis weeks away from returning

Davis exited a Feb. 14 game against the Denver Nuggets with a right leg injury. Shortly afterwards, it was announced that the big man was dealing with a right calf strain and a tendinosis in his right leg. While Davis’ absence was huge, Lakers fans could at least take solace in the fact that James was still healthy.

That all changed during a March 20 game against the Atlanta Hawks when forward Solomon Hill fell on James’ ankle during a turnover. James did stay in the contest briefly before departing to the locker room. After that game, it was determined that James was dealing with a high ankle sprain.

Through 23 games this season, Davis is averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals, all while shooting 53.3-percent from the field. As for James, he has tallied 25.4 points, 7.9 assists and 7.9 rebounds while recording a 51.3-percent field goal percentage and 36.8 three-point percentage through 41 contests.

Lakers fans, you can now breath easy. Your superstars in Davis and James are weeks away from making their return to the court with the goal of winning back-to-back NBA championships.
