LeBron becomes 3rd player in NBA history to reach 35k points (Video)

LeBron James scored his 35,000th point last night in the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets blew past the Los Angeles Lakers last night for a 109-98 win. They picked up their season-best fifth straight win over a Lakers team that was without Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroeder. The Nets were without one of their superstars as well, with Kevin Durant still out with an injury. James Harden led the Nets with 23 points while Joe Harris, who is on his way to Nets shooting history, hit six 3s on his way to 21 points.

LeBron James led all scorers with 32 points in the loss. The King is having yet another MVP caliber season despite coming off of limited rest and a championship run. The loss to the Nets last night came second to the fact that LeBron moved up in another ridiculous NBA category.

LeBron James scored his 35,000th point vs the Nets last night

At 36 years old, LeBron James became the third and youngest NBA player to eclipse 35,000 points. He now stands 1,911 points behind Karl Malone and 3,370 points behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The 35,000th point came on a free throw just before the end of the second half of the Lakers’ loss to the Nets. James was able to sink that free throw after being perfectly trolled by Kyrie Irving the quarter before.

The 35k point club isn’t the only one LeBron is a member of. Actually, he’s the stand-alone member in a lot of them.

If LeBron stays healthy, he has a very legitimate chance of becoming the NBA’s all-time scoring leader, an achievement that would cement his legacy as the greatest player of all time. For now, he hopes to put himself in a position to win his fifth NBA title this season.
