Senators’ Colin White leaves game vs. Oilers after crashing into boards

Ottawa Senators forward Colin White left Wednesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers after taking a hard spill into the boards during the second period.

The injury occurred about halfway through the second frame. White was trying to stop behind the Senators’ net, but lost his footing and went into the boards legs first at an awkward angle.

The 24-year-old needed assistance to leave the ice, and appeared to not place any weight on his left leg as he went straight to the locker room.

White has seven goals and 13 points in 24 games with the Senators so far this season.
