Joe Solecki is the fighter to watch at UFC Vegas 23 on Saturday.
UFC Vegas 23 is set to take place on Saturday from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. Marvin Vettori and Kevin Holland are poised to headline the main card to help shake out the top of the middleweight division. Before that fight, there is another competitor stepping into the Octagon with an opportunity to build on his current run of momentum. Joe Solecki is the fighter to watch heading into UFC Vegas 23.
The 27-year-old New Jersey native is heading into the Octagon for his third official fight under the UFC banner. He also competed on Season 3 of the Dana White Contender Series, before rattling off two wins as a part of the roster against Matt Wiman and Austin Hubbard. In total, Solecki boasts a 10-2 professional record with wins on the regional circuit in well-known organizations like Ring of Combat and Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
Being a New Jersey native, Solecki is coming out of one of the top fighting states in the country. But in doing so, he is well-aware of his opponent, another New Jersey stalwart in MMA, Jim Miller. Solecki was only 15-years old with Miller made his UFC debut back in 2008. Since then, Miller has been one of the most loved, fan favorites in the sport – always being just outside title contention but always a tough battle for anyone stepping into the cage with him.
At 37, there is no telling how much longer Miller can fight against Father Time, but he is going to remain a tough out for as long as he can. Solecki will have a test in front of him at UFC Vegas 23, but if he can pull out the victory, it is an important win over one of the statemen of the UFC’s lighter divisions.
