Yankees fans react to Aaron Boone’s new contract extension

The New York Yankees have given Aaron Boone a three-year contract extension and fans in the Bronx can’t believe it.

What in the world are Brian Cashman and Co. thinking? For the New York Yankees, they’re not quite ready to give up on Aaron Boone as manager of the club. On Tuesday morning, news broke that Boone will be back to lead the team on a three-year deal.

While the Yankees haven’t lived up to the hype in recent years with Boone in charge, the skipper is going to get another chance to try and bring home a World Series title. Folks really can’t believe this.

Countless people are calling out the Yankees for bringing back Aaron Boone

The hope for the Yankees faithful was that Boone would be sent packing and the team would focus on bringing in someone new this offseason. That won’t be happening and the anger has been showcased all over Twitter.

Right before the MLB trade deadline, the Yankees went out and traded for Anthony Rizzo and Joey Gallo. To add them to a lineup already featuring Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and others had people fired up.

The roster was simply loaded. However, despite recording a 13-game winning streak late in the campaign, New York didn’t come close to even sniffing a division title. Then in the AL Wild Card Game, a contest many thought they’d come out on top of, the team was embarrassed by the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Now, Yankees fans are forced to watch Boston put on a show in the ALCS, as they hold a 2-1 series lead over the Houston Astros. The Red Sox are living the dream, while New York is over here giving Boone a multi-year contract. It just doesn’t make sense.
